Fall in Love with Too Faced's Heart Shaped Love Flush Blushes! Review!

Hi there!

Summer 2015 new release collections are all over the place- shamelessly making us makeup girls go crazy.  I'm not going to pretend that I didn't fall head over heels for one of the products that was really cute.  Too Faced recently released these super duper addictive heart shaped blushes that I LOVE.  The packaging kills me.  It's smooth, shiny candy-like plastic that has Too Faced in gold script on the front.  I want to hoard them in my purse and I think I have all 6.  Let's take a look at 4 of them-

Too Faced describes these babies with the following: "Flush all day and night with the blush of true love. The long-wear, fade-proof, smudge-proof formula keeps your cheeks perfectly flushed for up to 16 hours. Pigment-rich, high-impact shades give a pretty pop of color for any skin tone".

Okay so maybe I wouldn't call it love flush or say 'flush all day'.  It's too toilet-ish for me.  It's conjuring up images of colons and junk- which for me, isn't too much of an imaginative stretch as I've seen many colons and don't want to flush all day.  To negate that imagery, here is a close-up of How Deep Is Your Endoscopy...er, Love.

Sorry I couldn't help it.  I'm a nurse.  I go there.  Well not literally 'go'....okay, sorry done with potty humor.  You came here for blushes- I get it :)

These cost $26.00 US and if you like Tarte's Amazonian Clay blushes, these will make you smile too. They're like the Barbie of blushes and I *heart* them (ba dum bum).  Names are all about romance, "Your Love is King" and "Baby Love" and for those who haven't found wuv twue wuv, "Love Hangover" for all those romantical regrets.

The colors are neutral leaning from a true warm taupe to a rich plum.  They have a bit of shimmer in the pan that reflects light nicely as you ooh them from your vanity.  However, on the cheek they build to a natural looking effect.  I've used stipple and blush brushes with these and I really like how well they develop on the skin.  No streaks of pink down my jawline thank you!

Here are the four I currently have while the other 2 are on their way:

Note:  The packaging is intended to reflect the color but is always richer in shade than the product.  I know that seems kind of obvious, but had to say it.

Baby Love- Warm toned neutral sandy pink
How Deep Is Your Love?- rosy blooming vivid magenta
Your Love is King- purple toned mauve
Love Hangover- true mid toned cotton candy pink

From the top, left to right are: How Deep is Your Love and Love Hangover (so you can see they're not the same although the cases appear to make them look similar).

From the bottom, left to right are:  Baby Love and Your Love is King

Here are some more close up photos of each shade and the attempts I made to look cool.

Okay so the embossing of the bunnies and the floral motif is pretty dang cool.  It makes me almost nervous to use it and rub it away.  I will say it's a fairly deep pattern on the product and as long as you don't grind your brushes in, these won't crumble and chalk into a mess too quickly.  They're not really soft and powdery- they're similar to the Clinique Color Pop blushes that are firm with a fabulous payoff.

Comparisons... Too Faced Love Flush Long-Lasting 16 hour (say that ten times fast) blushes are $26.00 and offer 0.21 oz of product.

Tarte Amazonian Clay blush- 0.20 oz, $28.00
MAC blushes- 0.21 oz, $22.00
NARS blushes- 0.16 oz, $30.00
Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush (seriously, fire your marketing team on the names...)- 0.19 oz, $30.00

The claim of 16 hour wear is pretty decent.  I usually put on my makeup around 5 am and get home around 7:15 pm from work and by the time I hit the makeup remover my blush was still on.  That's not 16 hours but seriously, I have to be up at 4 the next day and I'm not going to loiter around to see if that extra 2 hours suddenly makes my blush disappear.  It stays on.  Case closed :)

All things considering they're a great little deal.  The compacts feel heavy, smooth and like candy palettes.  The colors could work on just about anyone and for price and product amounts- cheaper than other high end offerings.  Can you see why I picked them all?

Let me know if you have any of these, your thoughts, or if you plan to pick any up!

Have a great day,

Oooh these look nice, and the packaging is just irresistible. Would you say that these and the Clinique Pop blushes have al the same level of pigmentation?

Hi Cailee! I think the Clinique Pop blushes are brighter, more vivid. I only have Cola right now and I have Berry Pop and Ginger Pop coming- I'll be able to compare more once they arrive.
