Freelance work: Before and After Prom makeup!

Good morning gorgeous things out there!  I am almost heading out to class (I'm student teaching this semester in Anatomy...daunting, but exciting so I am sitting in on lectures and must run out in 45 minutes to get to campus) but before I go, here's a look at Natasha, with some fun "pre prom" makeup.  She wants to wear a lolita dress and asked for something 'bright with red lips'.  I know a red mouth can sometimes look like It if you have too much color on the rest of the face, so I wanted something more grown up, but colorful.  Here's how it turned out.

Natasha before (cute!!)

Here's a look after!  I didn't edit the photo at all so you can see the difference.  There is window light coming in on her face in the 'after' photo, but she looks beautiful.  Her skin really looks amazing.

Below is the same idea, but with flash and a cute smile!  She was so happy with how it turned out.  I think she looks beautiful and she might add some rhinestones come prom.

Close up of After...

Then I had to get all 1930's Monaco on her and make her pose in the dappled sunlight.  She was a good sport and her eyes were so incredible.  Such a pretty color.

What I used:

Face:
Smashbox Photo Finish primer
Make Up For Ever HD Foundation in #117 Marble
CinemaSecrets foundation in a blend of #501-11 and #504-28 (Try this foundation, it's incredible and the standard for film but amazingly wearable)
L'Oreal True Match concealer in Warm Light (just under eyes and blended with Beauty Blender sponge)
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Light for powder
Silk Naturals Glow in Liberty for some gleam on top of MAC's color cream in Pearl (applied to bridge of nose and high on cheekbones, cupid's bow and very center of chin)

Cheeks:
Nars Mata Hari blush
La Femme Blush in Heather just at lower cheekbone for depth

Lips:
Nyx Lipliner (slim) in Hot Red
Besame lipstick in Noir Red
Milani lip gloss in Dressed Up (jelly like gold flecked red gloss, love)

Eyes:
Maybellilne Eye Tattoo in Edgy Emerald for base on lid to crease and then blended up
Aromaleigh Celeste (Eye Lustre) right on top of the Maybelline for oomph
Kat Von D Dublin at inner corner with Sparklehorse (Mi Vida Loca palette shades) at the inner corner to bring out a green/gold gradient
Aromaleigh Azure on center lid (Pure Eyes Frost)
Kat Von D Mad Max (Mi Vida Loca palette) leading to outer V for a blue gradient, mixed with Urban Decay Blackout (Naked 2 palette) at outer V for depth
Aromaleigh Orchid (Pure Eyes Frost) dabbed at tear duct and outer corner
Lower lashline lined with Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Baked then set with below...
Aromaleigh Rebecca (Fall Tapestry) under lower lashline, mixed with Aromaleigh Mist (Pure Eyes Frost) at outer corner for depth
Aromaleigh Altair (Starry Night) at outer crease for warm pink blended with Orchid for a glow
Aromaleigh Heart and Soul (Valentine 2009) slightly over the above for more rich pink color and contrast
Rimmed upper and lower waterline with Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes liner in black
Mascara is L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black in Black

Brows:
Slightly filled with Urban Decay shadow Tease (Naked 2 palette) and set with Maybelline clear mascara and a spoolie

Thanks for stopping by!  What was your look for prom?  Any blue ruffly tuxes still out there anywhere?
