Lorac Multiplex 3d Glosses in 3D and Ulta Glam

Alright I had to post this one as soon as the glosses came in, because I wonder if there are other women (and guys) out there who covet these lipglosses but don't want to pay $22.00 each for them until you read more about how they work.  So, here's the lowdown- Lorac has these uh-may-zing looking lip glosses called Multiplex 3D Lipgloss in 6 shades.  Multiplex to me means lots of movie screens, so I guess it's the Lorac 'Red Carpet' spin they put on things for this product name.  But to me, I grew up in an area where we had a ton of automated car washes called 'Red Carpet' so every time I hear that I picture movie stars toolin' through a car wash.  Had to be there, I guess.  They are supposed to be 3D looking, but to my eyes, they just have killer color shifting- but I can't say I'm seeing them in 3D.  Oh marketing ploys, I love you.

Here's the skinny on the glosses (while I listen to 311's 'Amber'):

$22.00 each gloss or I recommend the duo set, you get 3D and 4D for $28.00, much better deal. However, they're on sale for $11.00 if you hurry!

Lorac's website describes them as thus:

Every girl needs a pair of Double D's! Get two glam, glossy, gorgeous shades Multiplex 3-D Lip Gloss for the sexiest lips ever. This innovative, paraben-free Lip Gloss contains holographic pigments for multidimensional, high-lacquer shine and vibrant, long-lasting color. The unique formula is infused with antioxidants to help nourish and protect while the creamy, moist texture helps lips look silky-smooth and ultra-glossy. The custom, pro brush is designed to easily hug the curves of your lips for a rich, juicy 3-D pout!

3D is this beautiful honey brown color with rose duochrome and flecks of violet, copper, and pink.  It's my favorite.  I'd been lemming Vivid (porn star pink and lavender flecks) but once I saw 3D, we bonded and I had to own it.  So I got a two-fer set on Ebay that I'm assuming came from Ulta at one point.

LOVE this brush!  Thank you for a short fat brush head!  I hate the long brushes that look all cracked out looking and I end up despising them and cramming them awkwardly into the tube crossly- looking at you Kevyn Aucoin glosses.  These don't get gummy or splayed and apply a nice amount.  Below on my hand are just one little dip and swipe from the tube.

The camera doesn't truly pick up the shift these babies have in the light.  I usually love duochrome glosses but then get bummed when all the glory leaves once you get the gloss out of the casing.  These do shimmer on the lips.  They're not opaque, more of a sheer tint.  The glitter is NOT gritty- thank goodness, you don't even feel it (unlike you MAC dazzleglass) and the only downside is that these glosses are a bit gummy and tend to get a tad bit tacky.  Mine last for about 3 hours even after a RockStar and licking my lips.

Above is 3D first photo, natural indoor light, second is with flash.  Hardly can tell the difference, but the gloss is super gleamy.  I'm calling it my Best Find of 2011 so far.  I'll do a post in a few months on my Best of.  Or maybe a Monthly Faves?  What do you guys think.  I'll go with what you suggest.

Would I buy these glosses or use them?  Yes, not for film (too glittery) but this could be a great bride choice or perfect for thin lips that need some sparkle.  Have you tried these?  If not, do- I think you'd really get a lot of fun out of wearing them.  I know they're the prettiest glosses I own.  Have a great day and I like Thursdays because the trash man comes and for some weird reason, I love having an empty garbage can in my garage.  So I'm all pleased over it right now.  Weird, I know.

Have a great day,
