[Pink Poodle has since been removed from Lime Crime's offerings and image no longer available, but interesting comparison HERE]
Here's the comparison. TKB's Cloissone Red (which in its description makes a reference to a pink poodle and if you click on the swatch, a pink poodle image comes up) and Lime Crime's 'Pink Poodle' magic dust. Okay- some comparative names- but a name does not an eyeshadow make. Lime Crime has more sparkle and is a lighter pink. I think it's a stretch. I think something has been added and perhaps TKB Cloissone Red was the main base.
I will say this. Look, I like Doe's style. She has an edge and obviously some talent or else her stuff wouldn't sell out. I looked at Stargazer's lipstick and Cosmopop isn't anywhere to be seen (a close match is the lipstick #120 see image left which isn't the same, but it's hard to say based on a computer displayed image) and I just don't think it's the same. I think that Lime Crime is its own entity. I think she develops it. I like it, I use it.
In the meantime, I'm keeping mum. I am by no means the marketing genius, but I know what looks good in an image and I love Lime Crime's wearability. Doe has been top notch to work with and I think we should support whoever we can to succeed!So- I'm grateful there's so much out there to try, some old standby's that are going strong (ahem, Clinique Black Honey)- and some companies that will stick around because they're doing their thing and great at it, for example Aromaleigh! AAAnd to the new companies starting out, like Lime Crime- I'm excited to see what's around the bend!
Have a great day,
